UPM introduced three approaches in mobilizing volunteerism, first: focusing on university nic, agriculture and multidisciplinary, secondly; based on knowledge transfer and expertise, and third; collective collective and cooperation.

As a university with agricultural nic, UPM volunteer activities also focus on the nic including agriculture-related fields. This is important because it makes UPM volunteerism unique and different from other universities.

In addition to agriculture, to highlight the importance of multidisciplinary approaches, UPM volunteering activities are also based on the integration of diverse disciplines and using research findings for transfer of knowledge and expertise to the community.

The scope and form of volunteer activities whether for organization or participation are as follows:

  1. Helping community members meet the various needs of life and continuing their responsibilities while improving the quality of life
  2. To assist in the provision of expertise, material needs, labor, psychology and moral support to those involved with natural disasters such as floods, landslides and so on
  3. Helps alleviate the burden and suffering of the less fortunate in order to restore the potential of self regardless of ethnicity, race, religion and country;
  4. Providing social services to victims based on social treatment approaches with the skills and expertise available
  5. Serving the patients who seek treatment in the ward.
  6. and other related volunteering activities
