What is a VM?

VMs are defined as a systematic and innovative multi-disciplinary approach to study the functional needs of a program, design, product, service, project, facility and system to achieve optimum value and cost without compromising the level of program / project level. What is the scope of the VM implementation?

VM implementation in UPM covers three (3) key areas:
(i) Planning and implementation of physical projects above RM200,000.00;
(ii) Planning and implementation of high cost university programs; and
(iii) Planning and development of ICT system worth RM200,000.00 and above.

What is the VM rank?

VM involves a cycle of research that involves Valuation (VA), Valuation Engineering (VE) and Valuation (VR) studies.

What is risk?

Generally risk is an issue or event or that exists and can impact the achievement of an organization's vision, mission, objectives or goals. However, in the context of UPM, risk is the effect of uncertainty on the achievement of the goals of the UPM Strategic Plan, financial impact, operating impact and impact on university regulations.

It is a method of systematically identifying, assessing and controlling risks so that they are likely to be eliminated or minimized.

Yes it’s necessary, a MoU is a written agreement between two or more parties that establishes a partnership. Each MoU serves a specific purpose like academic affairs, students exchange, research, resource sharing, etc. depending on the needs of entity initiating the agreement.     Yes, it is necessary to obtain the approval of the Centre for Corporate Strategy and Relations (CCSR) when dealing with media. PTJ must first obtained the approval of the Dean, Director or Head of PTJ.
