Hayati Rukun Negara and Semarak Merdeka 2020 campaign launched

Aug. 19, 2020 – The ‘Hayati Rukun Negara and Semarak Merdeka 2020 Campaign’, launched at Galeri Putra, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) today, is aimed at instilling the spirit of patriotism and unity.

Efforts to inculcate patriotism and enhance unity in the country has taken place since many years ago. 

Rukun Negara which is now 50 years old since its introduction on 31 August 1970, is aimed at achieving racial integration and harmony as well as unity.

In line with the theme of the Independence Day and Malaysia Day this year, ‘Malaysia Prihatin,’ UPM will go all out to be at the front line in facing challenges during these difficult times.

UPM's role must go beyond the perimeter of the campus in order for it to be able to maintain its role as a university of reference, relevancy and respect.
